There is no drink that feels more summer-ish than Sangria. The all-time favourite of Spanish origin was rediscovered when some of our team member spent their vacation in Portugal this summer. Now you may say summer is coming to an end, but we feel like we want to make it last just a little bit longer. Here's our recipe for your (simple) home-made Sangria:
For 12 People:
1 Apfel (e.g. Granny Smith)
2 Tsp. Sugar (optional)
2 Cinnamon Sticks (alternatively some powder)
3 Tsp Lemon Juice
250 ml freshly squeezed Orange Juice
5 cl Orange Liquor / Triple Sec (e.g. Cointreau)
5 cl Brandy (e.g. Veterano)
1,5 L Red Wine (e.g. J.P. Chenet Merlot, currently on weekend special)
125 ml Soda/Sparkling Water
- Wash, dry lemon, lime, apple and oranges. Quarter or slice as per your preference.
- Combine fruit with sugar, cinnamon sticks, lemon juice, fresh orange juice, brandy and liquor in a large jug, and chill in the fridge for 3-4 hours. Chill red wine in the fridge separately.
- Before serving, add lots of ice cubes, as well as chilled wine and soda/sparking water to the jug.
Bring that summer back on your table this weekend. Cheers :)
